IKEA to Invest $74 Million in Cleantech

More details have emerged about IKEA's investment in cleantech... all $74 million of it.

IKEA will be making an investment in companies that make (or want to make) solar panels, alternative light sources, product materials, energy efficiency and water saving and purification technologies. Their goal is ultimately to sell the products in their stores.

$72 million may seem like a lot. To put that number in perspective, it's 3% of the store's sales from last year.

Still no word on whether you'll need a hex key to put together the solar panels.
