I can handle ugly carpet, poorly painted walls, drafty windows, even walls that drop mortar on everything, but the one thing that is a total deal breaker for me has to do with the kitchen. Can you guess what it is?
When it comes to kitchens I can DIY my way right into any crappy kitchen. Not enough space? No worries, I'll make a table that folds down. Small appliances? Don't be shy, you can still cook for a party of 20. But the one thing that has me walking away from the whole thing no matter how great the rest of the space — electrical outlets.
Now, I don't need 100 outlets and I don't require having enough to plug in multiple things. But what I do require is one unobstructed outlet that isn't used for anything else and is in a spot where I can get to it. It shouldn't be that much to ask for, but more often than not, it totally is.

Kitchen deal breaker, counter space. I will NEVER work in a kitchen again that lacks counter space to work on. My old kitchen, I improvised by buying an oversized butcher block cutting board to go over the sink. Problem with that is, you loose your sink in the process, which is no good for clean up.
I agree --electrical outlets. my small kitchen (cooking / washing dishes area has 6 outlets. The fridge bogarts one, and the others are free for appliances, one lamp in the living room uses a kitchen oulet. My dinette area is also small with one lamp and 2 outlets. the extra outlet is used for battery chargers and laptops. I remember whne I first saw the kitchen --I notice all of the electrical outlets ! It turned out one didn't work, so I had it fixed right away.
I keep things out of sight, unplugged, but not having them would be a dealbreaker. I usually roll in my trusty cart / island (which folds shut for storage -- Oasis Concepts) for extra counter space when, but an extension cord? never.
I wish I had proofread my comment -- what a mess it is.
they do make a large butcher block surface that fits over the stovetop, but like one that goes over a sink --it seems to be counter productive.
Builder-grade way-too-shallow sink! Ugh!!!!!! Put one small glass in it and it feels likes it's full. Put a few other things in with it and you can hardly wash a dish! Our apartment has one of these and it just sucks. Everything else about the apartment works, but that thing makes me crazy.
Kaasgood, your unedited comment gets a pass for "the fridge bogarts one."
My kitchen deal breaker is light, or possibly floors.
But they tie together. I have amazing powers of gravity, meaning I drop things, and the floor must be easy to get clean ( so no carpet) and I must be able to find what I dropped.
sadly I only have one exposed outlet location, (with two outlets) I managed to give myself 3 extra by running a very very long heavy duty extension cord from the one outlet next to the outlet that is being used by the fridge.
