The simple wooden box goes on psychedelic steroids in this gorgeous incarnation by Hungarian designer Laszlo Tompa. Using a complex pattern of geometric wood-turned shapes, the piece appears a solid sculptural object while hiding a secret storage space inside.
Made of cherry wood and appearing both geometric and organic, the box is a wonderful exercise in visual illusion. View more images of Tompa's creation on his facebook page.

gorgeous. *sigh* I'd be a major supporter of the arts if I had the cash.

fantastical! i love how organic the shapes are. it reminds me somehow of microscopic organisms, magnified 1000x.
Just stunning.
May I have one, please? :-)
Oh, I WANT that! So exquisite!
Wow, that is amazing. One word: AMAZING!
