We came across her work on the Tea For Joy blog. The owl drawing was the one that caught our attention. You might want to spend some time exploring her portfolio. We love the Science Fiction section as well as the Bejeweled illustrations of animals.
Visit Claire's portfolio site to see all of her work.

Wow, I love her use of patterns, and the realistic birds sort of seem like a fresher, more contemporary take on John Ruthven's approach to rendering wildlife:

Although Ruthven's work seems a bit like "art for old people" nowadays, I really appreciate his attention to detail, subtle rendering technique, and obvious affection and concern for his subjects. I mean this resemblance as a compliment, of course.
Her work is amazing, be sure to look at her website.
The intricate hand drawings blow me away.
I think her feather illustrations are wonderful. I've seen her work here: http://www.thequietrevolution.co.uk
*A good place to purchase great work from new artists.
