Today is the the first day of Polaroid Week (affectionately called 'roid week), a week dedicated to the art of the Polaroid. And so in honor of an art form we very much appreciate here at Apartment Therapy (it's small! you can do it yourself! ) here are some of our favorite polaroids and ways to display them:
Polaroid Week is happening on Flickr (you can see the rules for submitting your own polaroids right here) for the whole week. Check out the links below for polaroids we've considered buying and great ways to display the almost lost art form.
• Pocket Memories created this beautiful and whimsical Polaroid that we've coveted for a while now.
• We love this print from Etsy Artist Zuppaartista of our favorite SX-70 Land Camera. (Check out a set devoted to the SX-70 Land Camera on Flickr
• Display Ideas for Polaroids (and other photos) like simply stringing them up.
• Create a wall of Polaroids.
• These Polaroid Collages from Trampoline are modern and intriguing, they also have a beautifully simple aesthetic to them that we love in small artwork.
• We love Isofoto's Palm Springs/Road Trip inspired Polaroids.
• A beautiful pair of Polaroids from FuturoWoman.
• The Classic Heart Shaped Polaroid Installation.
• And finally, animal inspired globe trotting Polaroids from essoulie.
Find vintage SX-70's right here and get film here or modify the camera to take 600 film (if you dare).

Howard Butcher Bloc...
what IS going on with polaroids? i read somewhere that there are two men who have discovered the secret way that polaroids develop and are going to start the company back up......? or did i just make that up?
rmhct, you didn't dream that. It's called The Impossible Project. I believe they've made some positive progress.

I'm so honored that you've included my sakura diptych in this lovely collection! For everyone looking to shoot instant photography, now's the time to get back to the future! The Impossible Project has reinvented film that is compatible with integral Polaroid cameras (and it's gorgeous!), Fujifilm makes pack film that works with many of the "peel apart" type cameras, and Fuji's instax system is gaining in popularity, too. It's so fun!
Gotta love those heart shaped buttons on that yellow sweater :)
