In Our Dream Home: Neon Blacklight Paintings

Yes, yes, we're writing about something full of elements that normally fall on our "don't" list. Neon. Blacklights. We get it. But take a moment, and look at these gorgeous paintings, and tell us you don't think they're at least mildly stunning...

We came across the paintings of Que Houxo (who seemingly doesn't have a website, just this vague and non-english jump page) on NotCot this morning. As part of The Paint Players event in Tokyo last week, Que created these live paintings using neon paint and a blacklight. We think the finished painting is breathtaking, and in our "dream home" where we had all the space in the world to decorate, we love the idea of having a mural like this as a bold statement in a modern living room. We understand that it's not for everyone, but the amazing color and scale of this abstract floral scene is jaw-dropping! Take a look at a short video of Que in action here.

We get that this is neither a sensible design element for a home, nor a statement that many would dare to make, but we can fantasize, can't we!?
