Okay, I'll go first. My name is Janie and sometimes I go overboard in the decorating department. There, I've said it. I currently have the pleasure of decorating my kids' new shared room and the new playroom. There are many, many ideas and products swirling around in my head. But when it becomes too overwhelming and I've got too many "great" ideas fighting for my attention, I get back to the basics and pare down.A successful children's space must have 3 things - a comfortable place to sleep/rest; enough room to create and read; and a touch of magic. Everything else is superfluous. This child's room has all three. The bed is next to a small chalkboard and crate stocked with favorite books. And the hidden play space under the lofted bed is the perfect magical hideaway. It's definitely something to keep in mind when setting up your children's spaces in the home. This room is in the home of Sandra Jacobs and you can see more on Bloesem and Bkids.
