Moms and dads know that there are two natural enemies to working from home: kids and pets. While we can't help you with the furry ones, we did come across one stellar solution for thwarting your kids' workspace distraction missions. Would you believe it came from the IKEA catalog?

This page in the 2012 IKEA catalog comes with a tip that might save the sanity of work-from-home moms and dads all over the world:

"'Mom, mom, look at me!' A workspace of their own will keep kids entertained, and you on schedule."

It's an idea we've never considered before, but it might help cut down on distractions for the little ones. By giving them a desk of their own—stocked with their own playful desk supplies and plenty of colored pencils and paper—you'll keep them busy, and hopefully out of your hair.

Just because it's a kids' workspace doesn't mean it can't be stylish. Plenty of children's furniture manufacturers are creating sleek styles that'll feel right at home in your own big-boy or big-girl office. The Apartment Therapy Marketplace features a list of 10 great sources for child-sized desks, featuring offerings from IKEA, 2modern and Mason & Matisse.
