Q: My boyfriend and I are moving into a new house and the guest bed spread that I love (that serves as the inspiration piece for all the picture frames, furniture etc. that I painted to go with the room) will no longer get to be used unless guests come to town. The good news is, this room is becoming a dressing room/office for me! However, I still would really like to display the bed spread in some way to tie the room together.
The pillow cases are the same print as well. Maybe there is an idea there? I was thinking perhaps finding a vanity stool with removable cushion that I could cover with one of the pillow cases? Looking for suggestions that don't involve destroying the set, as we'll still be using it on a pullout when guests do come.

cut the pillowcases to size for a throw pillow to place on an office or vanity chair.
hang the bedspread on the wall as decoration, or if the room is large enough, you could use it as a makeshift 'doorway' for the dressing area to differentiate the office from the dressing area.
good luck. the bedspread is gorgeous!
If you have a sofa in the room use it as a throw over the back.
That's what I was going to say. They'd look nice on an upholstered chair, or a loveseat/sofa in the room. Or you can hang the spread on the wall as a sort of tapestry, depending on how big and thick it is. You can even have the spread made into curtains.
Hang it at the window using those little clippie window rings. That way you won't have to cut it or do any sewing.
Wait. You want to sit on one of the pillow cases then offer it to guests when they come?
I would throw some batting into the bedspread and machine quilt it and use it as a throw. Or cut it up and use it as curtains.
If you like the tented look you could put it on the ceiling, tack the corners and then randomly put tacks in it causing a ballooning effect. I used a quilt I had once in a sunroom and it worked out
great. Good luck!
i would make the pillow cases into throw pillows. keep them in the office when it's an office, then throw it on the bed when it's a guest room, along with the blanket.
Since you said that you want to be able to pull the set out and use it when guests arrive, I would say that makes things really difficult!
If you put either the spread or cases anywhere in the room they will fade or wear unevenly. Then, when the set is on the bed, it will show very visible uneven wear.
Try storing the duvet/ blanket in a cool dry place and using the pillow cases as throws, as suggested by other commenters. You can always use different pillow cases in coordinating colors.
