Last year, when our daughter was only about fifteen months and couldn't do as much outside- we filled an IKEA trofast bin with snow and set her up on her playmat in her baby bath tub with the bin placed in front of her and a garbage bag over her legs. We gave her cups and tools to use and helped her build a tiny snowman complete with carrot nose. When the snow began to melt a bit more, we moved the operation into the bath tub.
This year, on a lazy morning, we stepped onto our balcony, scooped enough fresh snow to fill a small white bowl and let her scoop it into an ice cube tray. Then we added food coloring to make things even more interesting.
