We’ve posted about designer Ineke Visser’s macramé creations before and we love them even more now that we’ve seen them in her relaxed, inviting home. The skillful blend of textures and darkly-colored accents throughout the house — including Visser's handmade poufs and the rough-hewed tables made by her husband — creates rooms that look ideal for curling up in on a chilly winter's day.
A sleek black fireplace is especially welcoming when juxtaposed with travel souvenirs, a huge spool of macrame yarn, and an oversize vase filled with branches.

Sloped ceilings, seaglass-colored walls, and a handmade blanket fill a cozy bedroom that's probably nearly impossible to leave on chilly mornings.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Looks very COLD there.
Stunning! I adore the hand-made look of everything in her home. Simple and warm, yet still light!
Any idea if there are DIY instructions out there to make those knitted poofs? Love them!
that's a *cone* of yarn, those are knitting needles, and i don't see any macrame at all! i see knitted and crocheted items. mislabelling of hand-crafted items is a pet-peeve of min.
that's mine not min ; )
Yup, looks like giant knitting (e.g. the bedspread) and crochet (e.g. the pouf) to me. Macrame involves knotting.
That stool, with the knitted cover, I MUST HAVE IT! Gawd, its beautiful. Its going to drive me to learn to knit.
I absolutely adore Scandinavian interior design. Light blues + whites + greys = LOVE. I plan to use this color palate when I get supplies for my dorm...
Jose A: That's a crochet stool!
Yeah, there's no macrame at all here. Crochet and knitting with yarn that I'm insanely jealous of!
I want to start knitting right now!
Totally gorgeous and cozy. @Olive, once I thought Holland was part of Scandinavia too, but my Dutch boyfriend corrected me. :)
No one actually identified any of the fiber arts in this post. The writer just said they've talked about her macramé before. Lighten up! Just because we love fiber arts does not mean we have to be snobs about it.
That's a big needle...
Holy TEXTURE! LOVE it!
The single implement could also be a large knitting needle used to make broomstick lace.
