Q: Is it true that the Allergy Luxe mattress, pillowcase, and box spring covers are good for keeping bed bugs and dust mites out of the bed? I bought the pillow case covers. Do I disregard the pillow cover that is on the pillow now, and put the protective cover on? Or do I put the protective cover over the existing case, and put a pillow case over that?

Editor: Susan, protectors and covers should always be the first layer. So, if you're referring to these pillow covers, then you should strip your pillow, apply the cover, and then put your pillowcase on top of it.

We've never tried the Allergy Luxe products, which appear to be available from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Do any readers have experience with them, either for hypoallergenic reasons or else as a bed bug protector?
