It's always amazing when something that was only a concept a short while ago will actually be made real. For now, this isn't the case for the Cute Cube compact socket which won a Red Dot Design award in 2009, but we think that it needs to become real.

Power bars are a way of life, but way too bulky for our tastes. That's why the Cute Cube compact socket is so perfect. All six sides of this cube house power sockets for your devices. This makes it perfect for traveling and just replacing those dusty old power bars that are around your house.

The Cute Cube was designed by Zhang Xi, Wang Hui, Miao Yingying, Zhou Xing and Cai Yun. Their design won a Red Dot Design Award, which we think was very well deserved. The shape is perfect for traveling since it's easy to stash in a bag or suitcase. Also, the sockets aren't next to each other. This means that 100% of these sockets can be used. How many times have you had one plug block you from using the one next to it?

Lastly, each of the sockets can rotate so that the cables aren't all tangled up. This is one great power bar and we hope that someone will make it a reality.
