Unfortunately, it seems like most of the houses on that hill have the same approach/style: huge. Maybe they're thinking that if they take up their entire lot with their house there won't be any trees to burn if a fire gets out of control? In my opinion, it's a shame that such a beautiful area has become a showplace for ostentatious wealth instead of an example of how people and nature can successfully cohabit.
