Location: Black Rock City
Size: between 16 sq ft and 1000 sq ft
Years Lived in: maximum of 7 days
While I have attended many a Burning Man, it is only since last year that I've begun to take note of the domestic side of things on the playa.
Like last year's Part I and Part II, I wanted to see how people lived when they weren't creating mayhem in the larger community.

Like a good costume, a great sculpture, or a fun event planned for your neighbors, a well designed home can also contribute to the overall positive impact of the ephemeral city known as Burning Man.

Way to go, woo hoo! And a little remorseful tear ... ;)
Thanks so much for this! My husband and I have been to Burning Man several times, but have had to give it a miss now that we're procreating. (I know other people bring kids, and kudos to them, but I'm not THAT organized.) I love seeing the types of temporary homes people create for themselves -- and actually, the Burning Man aesthetic is helping inform the design of the year-round cabin we're in the process of building.
awesome show jill... thanks for taking me inside!
i dunno what these ppl are doing out there in the desert but i like the bed on wheels at the beginning, the mini houses 'cause i love anything miniature, and the green parasol tent was pretty to look at. p.s. my mother has those same cardboard drawers used by someone for clothes storage in their tent "closet" only she doesn't live in a tent town in the desert, she lives in the suburbs, go figure! she keep old bras in there and silky nightgowns! TMI lol
Love this "homes" tour!
Thanks for reminding me of why I went. Nice slideshow.
