• Live Like You's Jill Sorensen is always whipping up fabulously colorful creations to incorporate into her homes and those of her clients. I love her modern take on the painted fireplace screen, which gives the quintessential winter spot a fresh face for spring.
• I know many people with seasonal collections of pillow covers, lamp shades, and throws that they rotate with the changing weather, and this year may be the one that I follow suit. A bright shade on a neutral sofa is often enough to transform the whole flavor of a room.
• Painted furniture may be one of the most highly debated topics among readers, but any thrift store junkie will attest to the fact that sometimes ugly veneers just call out for a coat of color. A painted traditional piece gives a classic room a youthful spring flavor, and the best part is that the color can be changed when the mood strikes.

Love that fireplace screen!
The splashes of color is beautiful!
I haven't really done much in the way of rotating decor with the seasons, but my new yellow curtains in my art room are making me happy this spring.
That fuschia cabinet is amazing. Is it me or is the 2nd picture gasping for some sort of head board of art between those two lamps?
I like the message the crocus brings but do not like the look.
These photo's feel like spring.... which I have been longing for.
Do normal people really stuff their closets full of pillows, throws and lampshades for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter - And does encouraging folks to buy more stuff they don't need really solve anyone's storage, decorating and money problems?
Why not encourage folks to bring in some fresh flowers & plants, open the windows & roll up the rugs and do some housecleaning rather than encouraging folks to buy yet more cheap stuff to pretty up the next few months rather than invest in quality items that will last them for years ?
Yeah, we have plenty of storage, but aside from a few holiday decorations I can't be bothered with rotating decor seasonally.
I do swap comforters on my bed in the winter (a necessity--we keep it cold in here) and put out more throws in the living room.
That said, I do love the bright splashes of color in these pictures. Especially that sideboard! And paint is wonderful, because if it's got nice lines, you can just keep repainting it as you tire of the colors.
I have always loved the look of a minimal/neutral room with pops of bright color. It's not a look I could ever pull off in my not remotely minimal or neutral home, but I love seeing it pictures.
Well said, bepst, that's exactly what I do in the spring, I take the rugs outside and shake them and air them out. I open up the windows and bring in freshly cut flowers from my backyard.
I looked for the 'like' button for bepsf..ha..
..but I DO plan on buying a big yellow pillow. : )
Thank you so much for featuring my livingroom with the very very pink credenza! :)
I think adding color (and painting) is an easy way to welcome the seasons. It's cheap and not very time consuming. I'd rather paint a chair or side board than buy new pillows and curtains (although I probably do that too! :):))
Please please tell what color and brand of paint of the credenza. I have a painted piano at home that I think I will repaint like that credenza!
The mirror! Must have it. How can I find it?
Hi Elisabeth! The paint color is from the NCS-system. The code is: S2060-P40B (should be a universal code)
The mirror (If you're referring to mine), is a vintage find from Peru that I got on ebay :)
