Walla Walla? Seriously? We had no idea this spa and yoga center was practically in our backyard, tastefully done in a serene, organic-modern style. Areus, an inn in a mid-century ranch house set against the backdrop of wine country in Walla Walla, Washington, provides plenty of inspiration for our own daily abode.
A visit by friends of More Ways to Waste Time blogger Leah got us hip to the place, which features such design touches as the Icarus light is by Tord Boontje and wall decor by Roost.
The white and light-wood color scheme strikes us as particularly Japanese-inspired, and we certainly aspire to the simple, smooth and clutter-free look.
Spa services include a Japanese-style ofuro, cedar dry sauna, massage and Power yoga, as well as an outdoor dining room — possible for most of the summer east of the Cascades. Read more about Areus here.

I immediately thought of West Elm too.
As nice as that dining room may be for viewing, the ottomans can't be very comfortable for sitting. Back support is a pretty necessary ingredient to making dinner guests feel that they're welcome to kick back and stay awhile.

Yes that would be pretty hard to implement into a personal home, especially if youre going to have dinner parties... But I think the point here is that the hotel guests would usually go down to the dining room (or outdoor dining room!) and save the casual dining for maybe breakfast in the room, or some sort of family game night, not for inviting dinner guests up.
