We came across these beautiful pictures of a house in Belgium and, although its European, we could easily see this fitting into the rural New England landscape. Forget the farmhouse—lets go straight for the barn...

Designed by Belgian architectural and interior design office BURO II/BURO Interior, the barn renovation was carried out with a few specific design requirements from the client: that tradition, innovation, and respect for the landscape be combined into a single project. We think these requirements should always be taken into account but let's let the results speak for themselves...

The exterior maintains a vernacular appearance while sophisticated pneumatic folding screens can both close the large expanses of glass or create defined exterior porches. The interior becomes a sleek neutral backdrop showcasing the beautiful landscape views. We would love to see more of this happening on our side of the pond.

oh wow
wow.
I'll take it.
I wish I knew more about this sort of thing...I'd love to buy a piece of property with a decent barn and have it renovated.

I could easily call this home. Love the interior. Since that's what I look at most, the exterior isn't as important as the view from inside.
tranquil, peaceful and oh so beautiful........

I read an article about these folks when I was up in Vermont last. They do some great work, albeit a bit controversial at times.
