Seating in the bedroom is my idea of indulgence. Meant for private enjoyment with only the closest of souls, it creates an air of intimacy and a place for quiet. Whether you have tons of room or only a corner, here's some inspiration for setting up your own boudoir sitting area.
Placement. If you're concerned about space, anchor your sitting area at the foot of the bed, but if there's an object of interest, like a fireplace or window, and you have the room, start there.
Seating. Sofas, chaises, and lounge chairs are great if you have the space. Benches, butterfly chairs, ottomans, pillows, even comfy rugs can work in small areas.
Decorate. What do you invision using the space for? Reading? Cocktails? Catnaps? Make sure to have a cozy blanket or a place to set your wine glass.
Do you have a sitting area in your bedroom? What do you use it for?

I have a corner that is crying out for a chair i would love to see a collection of bedroom seating options for under $150
Blue Togo in #8! Yes.
I have a little vintage button-tufted love seat in my room. I promised myself when I moved it in here that I would not just use it as a lazy clothing repository, but guess what? Ah well, it does make the room feel cozy when it's all cleaned up.
i just moved into a renovated bedroom ,and i'm trying to plan this very thing! I'm picturing my reading nook composed of a lounge chair like the Bertoia bird chair, about 4 feet from the upper left corner of the bed. and in the corner of the bedroom. I'm thinking of adding a platner end table next to it or a diy tree trunk table. and a cozy rug
I've got a chair in my bedroom. It's covered in clothes six days of the week...
I second amandaRH's request!
I love the bright oversized armchair in #3 and the close-to-the-floor option of #8, but my space may be better suited for the armless chaise of #10 due to space limitations.
I would love to set a a comfortable seating area in a little nook I have just in front of my bedroom window.... !
My bedroom being scarcely larger than my bed, I don't have this option. I would love to be able to sit on a simple straight-back chair while tying my shoes.
Now that there's no longer a crib in my bedroom, I found a vintage, blue-tufted chair on craigslist to take its place. I arranged the chair with a small rug, my grandmother's old Lane cedar chest, a small lamp, lots of books, and a few blankets in front of the bay window. It's supposed to be my reading nook, but since I usually don't get to read until bedtime, I mostly sit there to talk on the phone. I still love looking at it, though.
@CALLDOCTORBISON: agreed and did you see how cheap gas was back then?
Enticing ideas and images. My ideal: a windowseat with a comfortable cushion, good artificial light for evenings or cloudy days, and piles of embracing pillows. Add books, blankets or throws, a shelf or table, and it all = a tiny bit of heavenly interior real estate. Someday....
I have a destroyed leather love seat that i bought a cover for, but every time I sit on it, the cover looses its tight fit. Any ideas on getting a stretch fitted love seat cover for someone on a budget?
I LOVE #5. If I had such a great hang-out area in my bedroom, I might never leave!
