We recently talked about super bright kitchens that incorporate several different colors, but what about focusing on one majorly bright color? We're realizing that we're big fans of green (it used to be just kelly green) and we like that we're no longer just fans of one shade. We're equal opportunity green lovers.
We're in a rental and when we first moved in our landlord asked if we wanted to suggest a color to paint the kitchen. We had a really hard time deciding and eventually never suggested one at all. We don't know if it was due to laziness or him not hearing from us &mdash but the kitchen never got painted (we can't paint ourselves).
We're longing to move to an apartment that does allow painting. When/if that happens, we're dreaming of painting it green... bright green! When you're cooking you want to be inspired, and usually that inspiration comes from bright colors. We've noticed that our favorite meals to cook involve the most vegetables with the brightest colors, and we know that's not just a coincidence.
We absolutely love bright white kitchens as well. So, we're leaning towards a mix of bright green and bright white (images 2, 4 & 5 are great examples of that). The great thing about incorporating bright green into your kitchen, you can do it as subtly or has loudly as you want. Subtle could be including a bright green backsplash, or stools. While loud would be paint the whole darn thing green!
What do you think of Bright Green in the Kitchen?

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! I painted my own kitchen door chartreuse! :P If it weren't so small a kitchen (or perhaps whenever we redo it), I'll probably add more!

...you can see it if you scroll past that first pic ;)
We have a bright citron green accent wall to define our kitchen and dining area from the rest of the space. It's fantastic. (same color as pictures 8 and 9)
Photo 2 is the exact color of my whole kitchen. Everyone who sees it loves the color.
Design Sponge has a cute bright green kitchen in the Before & Afters for today.

I like the green in #2 the best. The rest have too much miami lime for this northerner's blood.
I'd rather have a green kitchen than a yellow kitchen...
I adore my green kitchen and it isn't even ready to be used yet! Color is Overt Green from SW. It isn't quite as bright and cheery as the ones featured but it is a very comfortable space to be in.

I really love green, but #1-#5 are too much for me. The cabinets in #1 are amazing, but I wish the green had been used a little more sparingly - like maybe if the inside of the cabinets were white instead of green? And the color in #2 is so beautiful - I always think of it as basil green. #5 and #6 are my favorites.
Does anyone know what color paint was used for #2? I love the color. It would really brighten up my kitchen. Thanks
Kymeco, I know this image is from a back issue of Domino, but that's all the help I can give at the moment.
Love this!!
Our last three kitchens have been Behr Asparagus. Great kitchen color!
I just painted my kitchen kelly green this past weekend (the color is literally called kelly green, by Benjamin Moore) - I just painted one wall - and it looks amazing! I was nervous to commit to such an intense color, but I am so happy with it - happier than I ever thought I would be
I painted my kitchen green a couple of months ago. The Domino picture, #2, was definitely part of my inspiration. We used Jaunty Green from Valspar.

Lots of great suggestions here - I'm just going to chime in on paint color for the wall. Since you don't have to live with it forever, why not go with something bold & bright? Green maybe.

oops! meant to post this somewhere else!
I just painted my kitchen blue and green - it had so much white tile that it needed really bright colors to spice it up. http://mylifeinperu.com/?p=144
