- This submission to Things Organized Neatly, an incredibly inspiring site if you're trying to harness some order in your home, takes an ordinarily desktop bound item, and takes it vertical. Bringing things you wouldn't normally expect to the wall can be very fun!
- I love the organic shape that this collection of plates takes as it sweeps acros the wall. Highlighting the variety of each piece in the collection and breaking out of the box with regard to form can do a grouping great favors. From Sunset Magazine, via Bella Vita.
- Have a collection of tiny things? I love the idea of displaying them in a letterpress tray. Letterpress trays are all the rage right now, but honestly, when it comes to little tinies, they're the best! Sushipot has created a little vignette of tchotchkes from her studio in this tray.
- This collection of teak pepper grinders, from (suprise) Teak Pepper, is gorgeous on its own, but when displayed in such a minimalist, but geometric way, I swooned. Each on its own small shelf, the collection becomes a large-scale piece of artwork, in my opinion. Love it!
- Lastly, I love the idea of taking a collection that might be considered mundane, or made up of ordinary objects, and really highlighting it. Elevating the interest of the collection as a whole by making it a focal point (when done well!) can be so very interesting. This collection of hats, found on Kelly + Olive, makes for beautiful entryway decor!
What do you collect? Do you have a unique way of displaying or presenting your collection, or any neat tips or tricks?

Shaw's Original Fir...
My husband and I collect vintage milkglass (Pyrex, FireKing, Hazel-Atlas, Federal, etc.) and we have a ton of mugs. One way we dressed up a boring hallway is to display the shelves of colorful mugs. They are resting on STRIPA shelves from IKEA, perfect depth for the mugs and for a narrow-ish hallway.
My sister and I have wooden spoons that we've collected from countries we've visited. My sister has hers mounted on the wall in the dining room while I have mine in vases. I love the typewriters!
I recently bought a couple of shadowbox picture frames and made some multi-media collages so that I didn't have to keep dusting a bunch of little tiny tchotchkes. I think they turned out pretty well, and they're super-easy to dust!
I have too many action figures already taking up shelves around the house, but the bathroom was completely empty and bland and devoid of decor. I wound up mounting some clear glass shelves on the wall facing the mirror and arranging a bunch of the action figures there. I liked that it brought something into the otherwise boring bathroom, and I found that it was a refreshing sight every morning to see the entire Justice League behind me when I brushed my teeth.
Those typewriters are fantastic!
I like to make mobiles out of collections of light-weight objects : feathers, felt balls, photos or postcards, vintage playing cards, etc.
You can see a brief tutorial I did here:

I must know where to buy the shelves the clocks are on!
