Inspiration: Decorator Mia Lundström's Home

I recently stumbled upon the home of Swedish decorator Mia Lundström via the Style Files and instantly fell in love. I normally struggle when mixing styles and periods. While I appreciate a medley in other people's homes, I always fear my attempts are unsuccessful and looked forced. Mia however has found the perfect blend of textures, colors and periods as it all works effortlessly.

Mia's bedroom mixes jewel toned fabrics with gold accessories and modern details, while her kitchen is an exercise in black and white simplicity. Her dining room falls somewhere in between as it is both eclectic and modern. Even though there is no unifying theme running through her home, nothing feels incongruous. More than anything, it feels like she's surrounded herself with objects she loves. When that shines through, it's obvious that's the only unifying theme that's needed.
