A wrought-iron headboard is a great look for a child's room, but it can be a bit hard on the young noggin. This embroidered headboard by Lydia Lee gives a great wrought-iron effect but is soft and comfortable.
Beyond wrought-iron, tons of great ideas are coming to mind to embroider a customized headboard. How about embroidered initials, or a robot, or a butterfly...?
Detailed instructions of Lydia Lee's project can be found at Design Sponge.

Totally cute! I think it would work for children or adults.
um, I have a wrought iron bed and now I want to cover the headboard and embroider a headboard onto it. I love this beyond measure!
Adorable.
How about embroidering a city skyline? Or a carnival scene (ferris wheel, carousel, etc.)?
as you can see from my post, i love love this bed. i also love the skyline idea. cute.

Love those flowers on the wall, anyone know where I can find those??
Those are Umbra Wallflowers.
Lovely idea: am I the only one thinking of taking this idea further and actually *painting* the iron headboard on the wall? It would be super cheap and extremely cool. I might even choose shocking pink for a girl and dark green for a boy. Great great idea!
I can't wait until my daughter gets out of her crib so I can do this for her bed!
LOVE!
This embroidered wrought iron headboard is a great idea for a child's room.
