Okay, so we brag a lot about Austin talent (this blogger lives in Austin, after all) but we truthfully find a lot of inspiration in all the amazing innovations and designs coming out of the Texas capital. And, an event this weekend looks to put as much of that talent (both furniture and people-wise) under one roof! If you're in Austin, be sure to head over to Cowork Austin in the Hannig Row Building downtown on Saturday, December 11th for Rough Cut, a presentation of some of the hottest furniture designs of Austin (okay, and a few from a some other cities). Featuring experts in wood, metal, glass, plastic and more, you'll see a variety of styles and materials. And while it might be a bit much for a gift to just a friend, you might also get some ideas for large scale gifts for loved ones. Curated and presented by the Industrial Design Society of America, you are sure to see really high level of quality and cool factor here. Don't live in Austin and are bummed you won't get to see a sweet sampling of Austin furniture designers? We've rounded up all the participants of Rough Cut and linked to their work so you can get inspiration, no matter where you are! Brooke M Davis Design Efrain E.
