We're inspired by family photography that's a bit off-beat (remember these?). Reader Stephany was inspired by the photo portraits Hendrik Kerstens makes of his daughter in the style of Dutch Master painters. She and her son, Luke, decided to try it themselves with these winsome results.

(see more of this series by Hendrik Kerstens at Witzenhausen Gallery)
As you can see from the photos on Stephany's blog, Crooked House (and more in her Flickr set), she and Luke had a grand time making these and the marvelous photos are a great keepsake of the day.

That is one lucky kid. What a fun mom. Love it.
One lucky kid with one brilliant mom! She writes like a dream, too...her blog is one of my all-time favorites. Always fun to stop by!
Love these photos. And am so relieved to find out I'm not the only person who's ever put a pull-up on their kid's head.
I LOVE it! These are so funky and memorable!

So fun & wonderfully offbeat!
I love most of them, but since when is it ever a good idea to encourage a child to put a plastic bag on their head? I'm generally not an alarmist, but I can just picture a kid thinking, "Well it was fun to put a bag on my head, so wouldn't it be more fun to put it all the way over my head and make funny faces and then maybe I should tie it just so my face looks really funny and..."
This kid looks plenty old to me to "play" with plastic bags. Ohdeedoh is all about sharing ideas, not judging other parents.

LOVE it!
