Nothing says "this is the room for clean things" like crisp, bright white (Images 1, 2, 6, 10). Sometimes, though, a little more color is on order, like the punch of aqua in Image 4 or yellow in Image 8.
These rooms stayed organized with hampers, cabinets, and shelving. Images 9 shows how useful fabric can be in masking something like plumbing. Similarly, in Image 5, curtains help hide the washer and dryer when the laundry room is really just an alcove.

This is perfectly timed! I was just planning my laundry room.
Nice, you included an unfinished basement!
so envious!
love how contrived the last one is! Who uses those old wooden pegs, really? And the decorative bird! ha! Gorgeous but ha!
cm - i laughed when i saw the bird but the clothes line clips organizer I thought was genius! I'm always losing mine (call me old fashioned but I still hang my clothes out to dry on a line in the summer).
These images make me ILL with envy!
Someday, I will put that beautiful vintage square washtub to good use in my very own, neat, tidy, functional laundry room, rather than ratty, messy laundry closet (OK, so at least I have one).
is that a shower head in the 2nd photo? Why if it is?
Yes, the unfinished basement was inspired.
Funny that the laundry room is often in such a grimy part of the house/building. I have big hopes that one day my unfinished basement would be as welcoming as the one pictured!
Just added 230 sf to the house with a laundry room/pantry, mudroom and powder room. Previously, I had a laundry closet in the kitchen. Could not stand having dirty clothes piling up in the kitchen. The pantry is ikea 72" tall media cabinets in highgloss white, track lighting, white washer/dryer are raised on top of white cabinets, floors are tiled, ss sink, 7' corian counter (remnant). Am totally in heaven.
#8 is the most like my laundry room which I thought could never look nice but I guess I'm wrong. A lick of bright paint and some sea grass mats really make a difference.
I thought my basement laundry room was beyond hope (though certainly a step up from the laundromat), but something similar to #8 is very attainable. Thanks for the inspiration!
These laundry rooms are gorgeous and simple. I am too scared to use my unfinished laundry room. As a result, my boyfriend does all of the laundry. It really is scary and very unfinished. Wish I could get closer to these lovely rooms!
Am I the only person in the world that still has a top-loading washing machine?
Thank you so much for this. My husband just finished painting our laundry room yesterday. I was in need of some inspiration for ways to finish it off.
@ termoderngal we got a front loader machine and it broke after a month so we asked if we could get a top loader instead and they said yes and I love it its still an HE machine and I haven't had any problems with it except I can't do the laundry at 8+ months pregnant!
Any good examples of nice laundry areas in garages?
oh I'm drooling!!! I can't wait to have the laundry in my HOME!!!
I live in NYC and needed to hike out to do it every time. such a pain. When I'm feeling lazy I go to http://laundrylocal.com/ and find a place to pick it up and do it for me. But one day... one day I will have something like this!
@bluepuppybites, it's a spot light, not a shower head
