When decorating a room, a little bit of red goes a long way. The color alone is a vivacious detail that adds excitement to a space and goes so well with any style of decor. This inspiration gallery is full of great examples and ideas to add a little panache with a pop of red.
Some great ways to use red in your home:
- Paint a frequently open door red.
- Accessorize with a couple of red pillows.
- Punch up a neutral color scheme with a dramatic red lamp.
- Paint the inside of drawers, or even a desk, a glossy red for a bold surprise.
- If you love the red sofa- go for it! It can be an anchor for a whole room.
- Paint a piece of old or lackluster furniture a happy shade of red.
- Create your own architectural statement with a bit of red paint on the wall.

re #9: go bucks.
I'm pleased to see the return of red... Viva, rojo!
I do love that little bit of red here and there. So cheerful!
I like all these examples, BUT...
See the pretty red door? See the nasty white chips? If you paint things bright colors, keep some touch-up paint on hand and repair any damage as soon as it happens! Why draw my attention to the pretty red (damaged) door, otherwise?
Red is pretty, there are many kinds, and it goes well with many other colors.
it's my favorite color to add to a room.
what color is that bluish gray paint in the first photo?
i1ducati - I checked the Flick page where Picture 1 was initially posted, and it says the wall color is Benjamin Moore's "Flint."
And maybe I'm weird (okay, I KNOW I am), but I rather like the character of the chipped red door in the first image. It coordinates with the white "worn edges" look of the painting. I rather enjoy it, and I find myself returning to that photo to look at it.
Heck yeah!
Any ideas where the red sofa in picture #5 comes from (or something like it)? It's amazing!
