Living in a small rowhome in Philadelphia, we personally don't have the luxury of a mud room. We sure are jealous of those who do! Not only would a mud room afford us the ability to stay far away from our basement, it would provide a great place for laundry and a better looking barrier between our living space and the outdoors.
We've rounded up a few good looking mud rooms as a source of inspiration for all of us that dream of one day having one of our very own…

Pic #1 is almost too beautiful to be a mud room, but I love it all the same!
lol an all white mud room is a GREAT idea. lol
pretty though.
Our mud hallway id snot wuite this nice. I also think the dust on our floors could turn to mud if we just water it a bit. A mud house perhaps.
If I were ever to do an addition on my house, it would be a nice little bump out of a mudroom off the back of the garage . . . which would lead to an improved layout for that back door . . . which would lead to the opportunity to block off the current entrance and remodel for a better kitchen layout . . . which will lead to . . . ;-P and so it goes. Good thing it would be a decade or two before I'd even have to [get to] think about it. ha.
love the last one. the 2nd just looks like a laundry room, and the 3rd is just a couple hooks. hardly a 'mud room' as the other portrayed.
Love the locker room look! Except I'd have to add doors or something to cover up the clutter look. My husband & I are huge college football fans so this would be super cool in our home. (Roll Tide!) =)
Ugh. Hate the first one!!! Who makes tiny shelves for sunglasses? Those kids are going to grow up with some complexes.
I am always jealous of the mud room concept. Don't have one, and probably never will. Sigh. But I live in the south, so I don't need a "mud" room so much as a landing place for my family's crap.
the first photo has me cracking up a bit. imagine being in a bike store and thinking "oh, i have to buy a helmet to match my mudroom".
still, love the idea. i'm thinking sealed/shiny concrete would be a GREAT mud room floor, assuming it cleans well...
I used to have a mudroom and I turned it into an art studio. Now that I live in Seattle, I need a mud room. Thinking of turning my stairway into a mud room... Any ideas?
