Since we moved a couple of months ago, we've been avoiding one room in our house. Our "guest room" has become the catch-all for stuff we're not sure what to do with and, needless to say, it's not in great shape. We have a friend coming to stay with us in a week and a half, so we've got to roll up our sleeves and do a little work in there. To jump-start our progress, we pulled together a roundup of inspirational guest rooms. Our favorite is the one from Martha Stewart shown above (more below)...
We won't have anything quite so chic to offer our guests, but it's good to have something to aim for...

anyone know where the black leafy thing is from (on the dresser in top left photo)? thx
The magazine said it was vintage from a flea market. Sorry. I love it, too!
I may not have the nicest guest room...but adding a bottle of water, fresh cut flowers, and rolled towels with a ribbon tied around them instantly say "welcome!"

a friend of ours with a loud upstairs neighbor left us earplugs in our room. I laughed it off- but I was so happy at 6AM when the pounding of little feet began.
Does anyone know where the curtains are from in "Nicoles New Guest Room" pic?
They're beautiful!

We have an office/guest bedroom and I am trying to make it look nice for a visitor in 4 weeks. Not that easy, but I will remember the flowers and towels!
Dude, my own bedroom doesn't look this nice! My guests have to contend with an air mattress on the floor surrounded by unpacked boxes from my latest move. They do, however, have the option of sleeping with my adorable, fluffy maltese.
I like the idea of putting ribbon around guest towels.
