In Greg Natale's House Call a couple of months ago, he credited his parents and Italian background as his main source of inspiration for his home. Over the past 3 years Greg Natale has been working with his parents to update the family home in Sydney. Having lived there since 1978 his mother was keen to bring in much needed light, some updated décor and create a more open plan space. We think the results are great.
Keeping many of the original details of the home was his mothers request- vitrified floor tiles, murano glass chandeliers and baroque inspired Italian furniture all stayed. Into that Greg and his parents added contemporary rugs, reproduction mid-century furniture and a new kitchen complete with huge granite benchtops and splash back. What we like about this home is that it's clearly still the home of a couple who had great taste in the 1970's, it now just has some more modern fixtures and a fresher feel to it. We're excited about Greg Natale's next family project– a 16 person crypt for their family plot using black and pink marble! More info on Greg Natale can be found at his website.
