So what do you do when you have a love of hats, but never find yourself wearing them? Well, display them, of course! We had a rush of inspiration (and a glass of wine or two) one night with our roommate, and hung a number of fairly random objects in empty frames on the wall. The protractor didn't, ultimately, make the cut, but the feathered hat became a household favorite! We love the idea of incorporating beautiful headgear into our homes...

We loved many of the ideas in the piece, but also think that this idea would easily transcend a circus theme. We would love to have a bowler hat lamp above our reading chair! (We just envisioned an entire series of photographs of our friends in a very Magritte-like setting...)
Hats as objects of decoration isn't a new idea--Elizabeth posted before about their appeal as a sculptural item. But we love these new (to us, at least) and intriguing ways to display hats in our home!
