Yesterday we wrote about art over beds but there are other options for decorating a headwall. These amazing hotel headwalls not only change the scale of the beds but also create an all-encompassing, dreamlike space. Follow the jump for more images and info on these lovely spaces...

Designed by Marcel Wanders, this headwall comes from Suite 7 of the Lute Suites in Amsterdam. The soaring upholstered headwall takes on an Alice in Wonderland feeling, reaching all the way up into the gable of this loft-like space.

This second room comes from the Hotel Particulier Montmartre in Paris. The wallpaper evokes the feeling of sleeping in the trees. The light fixtures on the wall and night tables help produce a strange feeling of depth to the flat walls, adding to the overall dreamlike space.
Which do you prefer and how could you apply these concepts to your own bedroom headwall?

Those trees are trippy.
That upholstered wall is HOT
I'm already rolling the idea of the tufted wall in my head, wondering...
The tufted wall is a bit too Bedlam for me. Theoretically, I like it... in practice it looks oppressive.
I want that upholstered wall bedroom! The gabled roof is so awesome!
Very cool. I found this one and I think I like it, but it also kind of reminds me of a cheese grater. :-)
heartsickstricken.moose -- With your permission, I'd like to steal the phrase "a bit too bedlam" as the title of my never-to-be-written autobiography.
That forested Parisian hotel room is wonderfully surreal. I keep waiting for Mr. Tumnus to prance through the door.
Does anyone know where the elephant lamp is from?
No and No.
Ewww....
I have always liked the idea of a large upholstered wall like that above, it reminds me of the dressing room at Maxfield Blue on Roberston in LA
I really don't feel the colors for these but I like the top to bottom padded wall concept, that could make things really kinky.
I agree with other posts that the tufted wall is a bit much..but the idea of all over wall/ceiling wallpaper is genius to make you feel youve entered a new atmostphere and not just a room!
