When we came upon this sitting-room-in-the-kitchen set-up we stopped. It just looks so...comfortable. And full of style. And full of light! We found out that it came from LA based designer Elizabeth Weinstock who had a bunch of other bright, warm interiors in her portfolio that mix the feel of an outdoor space with the indoors (we threw in some outdoor shots for good measure, too):

We love how she uses views and foliage outside to make an inside space feel lush but spacious. It doesn't hurt that she's had great architecture and lighting to work with! Drinks by the pool anyone?

The hardware on the kitchen cabinets is awful, and there is far too stuff much on the counters. But I love the cherry blossom pillow, and the flooring with the counter material and brown walls.
I'll take the kitchen (hardware and all - I can change that later)! =)
I'd love to curl up on that couch while someone else makes me dinner!
That couch in the kitchen is fab! What an excellent place to read recipes or chat with the cook. Not a huge fan of the hardware and clutter either. Can't stand the glass top on the table.
it's actually Elisabeth with an "s"
it's predictable, lacks imagination and is a bit too cluttered...just not my style...
The best spaces, in my opinion, are the kitchen and patio are the nicest spaces. They are warm spaces, not cold and depersonalized like the others.
I attempted to write English in the previous post and failed.
Although the hardware is not many people's style, it would be palatable if there wasn't so much stuff on the counter and coffee tables.
Great outdoor spaces but talk about high maintenance.
It's L.A., dahling. There are people for that.
i would die to have a kitchen like the first pic. well, not die...that would defeat the purpose. really bea-yute-a-ful!
If you think those counters are cluttered, then you would hate my kitchen! Of course, my clutter is all in the form of small appliances, spice rack, and the like that I use several times a week.
I have almost always had a sofa in the kitchen until now, in NYC, where that is impossible!
I love the first picture in Idea only. I do not like the style of the kitchen and that sofa is just too big, bad coffee table.
However, I appreciate the post because I am helping a friend with her house and she should loose the dining table that is never used and do a indoor garden seating area. thanks
