Yesterday, Leah posted a roundup of kitchens with turquoise touches and I have one I would respectfully like to submit to that group. Jen updated her kitchen by simply painting the upper half of her walls with a calming aqua paint and adding a patterned panel above her stove. The result is a kitchen I could happily spend days in.
With just the right amount of vintage details, pops of yellow and that soothing turquoise, Jen has taken the good bones (great cabinets and stunning hardwood floors) of her kitchen and made it something completely her own.
Be sure to visit Jen's blog, The Little Things, to see more pictures. The kitchen was originally featured on House of Turquoise and since then she has received tons of questions about her kitchen update. She now added more details about her paint colors and where she found some of her accessories to her blog. Read those at The Little Things: Thank you!

White Enamel Four-P...
Jen, can you share where your kitchen island came from? Or does someone else recognize it?
I love the yellow and turquoise!!! I am in the midst of choosing color schemes for our house, and I keep going back to those colors!
On her blog she said the island was an Ikea butcher block island she found second hand, that she painted with Behrs Mirage Lake Paint and coated with poly. Its gorgeous!!!
here is a link to the blog post with her FAQs

The turquoise table is gorgeous, but I'm really loving the coppery backsplash.

I have a butcher block island similar to that and I'm terribly tempted to copycat her paint job because it looks *awesome*. But something tells me that a year from now I'd want the natural wood look back. What to do?
Perhaps just paint the bottom (lets, bottom shelf) and leave the counter top natural wood.
This kitchen is absolutely beautiful!
That's really lovely.
SUCH a lovely kitchen!!!!!
What a beautiful kitchen. The combination of colors is perfect. I would have never thought about putting the yellow and turquoise together. You did a lovely job!
I would love to have this kitchen! It would make me happy to walk into every day. I love the beautiful turquoise on the island and the lighter shade on the wall and that they mixed in other colors, the green and yellow, as well. The backsplash behind the stove looks incredible-- it's not my usual style, but it adds a nice contrast and richness to the room.
this is an instant favorite for me. i love everything about it!
