When it comes to rearranging furniture or adding items to our current collection, we like to take inspiration from the pros beforehand. We found Kaylovesvintage on Flickr and fell in love with her stylistic approach to table vignettes--simple but elegant.
What looks to be a vanity, Kay keeps the area light and airy with a large vintage mirror, a Ghost Chair and hanging miniature discs as window decoration.
No framed art is needed in this space because of the positioning of the adjustable lamp that fills the space above the table. Simple plant cuttings and a decorative bowl round out this well-edited entry.
We love salon-style placement of art on the wall and we especially like the way Kay spaces hers framed pics (with room to breathe). An unexpected hint of color in the upholstered chair brings out the color from the photos above nicely.
Again, the salon style grouping of frames above an antique dresser combined with a collection of clocks and a lamp keep this space balanced. Kay also makes the space seem larger by hanging her curtains close to the ceiling.

Dear Vignette of a Vanity,
I love you. Let me count the ways. Your lovely sunny window, by who's light I would apply my makeup. Your oversized vintage mirror in which I would always look radiant. Your airy chair where my bum would rest, as though suspended in space.
You are beautiful in color, form, and function and I want you to be mine. Will you come to my place some time?
Love,
Erica
The lights. The lights. I'm dazzled by the unique light fixtures throughout.
Best part about the salon style grouping of frames - no need to tediously measure and level.
LOVE the lamp in the last photo.
Forget all the wondrous objects - look at that DOOR! Ok now I'm back to drooling over the vignettes...
