There's a definite art form to making a small space function and look effortless at the same time. Kim, from Happy Accidents, does a great job at both--marrying big ideas for small space living. More inspirational pics after the jump!
Not having enough room for a big desk in her teeny studio--she takes this vintage telephone stand and has it function as a desk. Although the desk is right next to the couch, they visually look separated into different zones. The bright, teal rug sections off the couch and artwork above as one zone. Then the two framed pieces of art beside the desk (with a more neutral palette make the desk area its own zone). We love how Kim positioned the two areas next to each other without either side competing for attention.
Making great use of a small kitchen, Kim uses a curtain instead of a door to save space. Overhead, she hangs pots and pans for easy access while giving the kitchen a bit of charm.
There's little room in the bathroom to store products and hand towels so Kim takes a glass shelf and positions it above the sink. We love using glass shelving in small spaces which keeps the flow of a space.
For a room that lacks storage space, under the bed is a great place for items to go. Kim uses a vintage crate for storing magazines--they're accessible (and we don't mind that the crate might peek out from below).
