One of our good friends recently got back from a fantastic trip. With her she brought great photos, and our favorite is this beautiful living wall by artist Patrick Blanc.
This living wall is much more intricate than the ones we're used to. It's very inspiring to see just how beautiful living roofs and walls can be once they reach their full potential.

That is so impressive...
There is one like this in Paris, behind the BHV store.
I could so see this on freeway walls
Yeah, I just got back from Paris and it was COVERED in slugs. That's not something they tell you. It was gross. :)
The freeway wall is a good idea. That way, the plants could naturally filter the smog.
beautiful and I can see how slugs would like it too.. good food
This is so bad for the brickwork. I bet that by the time it looks this nice, the building is crumbling.
"idiot", they probably accounted for that and had the plant life secured to sheets of outer plywood or something else detached from the actual building face.
If you read the 'detailed presentation' tab on his site, he explains the issue of roots damaging walls and how he handles this issue.
