My sister and I had an amazing collection of marbles when we were younger. We spent entire days categorising them, cleaning them and just generally marvelling at them, but you don't see them around much any more. Thankfully the glass artists behind Marble Merchants were similarly enchanted and they're bringing them back.
Danielle Rickaby and Jaan Poldaas forge every marble by hand from the glass furnaces in Adelaide, Australia's JamFactory studios. They combine traditional techniques with contemporary materials to create modern day collectables that appeal to enthusiasts of all ages.
They describe their inspiration as "an expanding idea that revolves around the magical nostalgia of marbles, and a desire to create a cool, contemporary version of these iconic items."
