We spotted this inspirational set of pics on Marusica's Flickr photostream (and we're sure glad we did!). A mix of vintage finds, cozy backdrops and a new places to hang pictures makes this grouping of photos unique. There are a few ideas we'd like to apply in our own home...
Take for instance the way (or rather, the placement) of marusica's artwork in these two photos. In this picture, the artwork is only about a foot from the ground. Although the placement of the artwork isn't traditional, it seems to fit right in.
In the bedroom, marusica makes the lamp her focal point and adds a little contrast by placing the artwork slightly to the right of the lamp (again, not traditional but we love how it looks!).
Marusica has a knack for pairing vintage finds and family heirlooms. We love the way she mixes up her collection of blue globes next to seafoam green artwork amidst dark walls and antique furniture.
In the opposite room, Marusica goes for lighter walls and more antique furniture (we love the rustic, cozy feel of unfinished furniture). A large, empty frame adds a bit of charm above the dining room banquette. What an inspiring place--well done marusica!
