I'll readily admit that I'm guilty of canopy bed stereotyping. I always expect white four-poster beds with princess-y details in the rooms of 8 year old girls, but these modern canopy beds flip that preconception on its head using angles, clean lines and rustic wood. These are most definitely made for adults...and maybe even for boys.
(FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
1 - In Liz Lange's Westchester home, Jonathan Adler created the appearance of a canopy bed using navy linen curtain panels suspended on curtain hardware attached to the ceiling.
2 - Cote Maison featured this canopy bed in their preview of IKEA's 2010 products.
3 - Designer J. Randall Powers used this canopy bed made of rustic wood with clean and modern lines in his Houston home. While the "canopy" is wood, the white bottom keeps it feeling light and airy.
4 - The minimally designed, ebony finished canopy bed by Calvin Klein would be a great centerpiece for any bedroom.
5 - Timothy Whealon chose this unfussy canopy bed to create a "cozy, clean, modern bedroom with classical lines" in a Manhattan apartment.

I've always wanted a canopy bed -
I wish my bedroom were large enough to accommodate one.
I bought the Room & Board Architecture bed for my studio a year and a half ago and haven't regretted it once. initially I thought I'd make curtains to hang when I wanted them, but I've found that even the visual suggestion of "this block of space is my bedroom" is enough separation.
I bought a canopy bed from Habitat (http://www.habitat.net/fcp/product/browse/Cama-grande-doble-de-4-columnas/982312) and of course my room doesn't looks like a pricess room :)
I'd love to have a canopy bed with curtains for its original purpose, keeping warm at night. I think when you live in a cold climate it's a wonderful idea.
Hmmm.....maybe I'll try to rig something up (although it isn't especially cold here in New England this winter)
I adore my canopy bed - it's from Ikea and just like the one pictured above but in light wood. When I first moved into my house I thought my bedroom would be too small for it, but it fits! The top bars barely clear my ceiling fan, but it doesn't look weird at all.
romance this is very beautiful beds for couple new wedding...!!
i like it... thanks
