Yes, I broke the "we" rule. But really, she is my mother. Anyway, mother dearest has an absolutely beautiful blue bedroom that we just adore. Our reasoning? Check it out (and a night shot) after the jump.
So, why do we love it? Zero-VOC paint, bed she made herself, great art from a local artist (at the time) named Ogi... it was designed very inexpensively, and it's still absolutely gorgeous. Plus, it suits my mom, which is all that really matters, isn't it?

Your mom is totally cool!
I love your mom!!! I'd like to see the rest of her space.
Please can we see more of this room?
beautiful and unpretentious by night or day...yes, i would like to see more, as well.
What an awesome bed (and color)! You must have a pretty cool mom.
Where did she get the light orb that sits at the foot of the bed, and who makes it?
Thanks.
whoaaa, what a gorgeous room! so calming and beautiful.
I would wake up in that room every morning and feel like I was on vacation.
the bear: artemide makes some globe lights http://www.gabrielross.com/office-75/office-table-lamps-2050/artemide-dioscuri-table-lamp-14-or-25-or-35-or-42-890.html so does flos but they are more expensive. i recently saw an ikea one too, it seems flimsy and cheap when you touch it but it looks nice when lit up.

is there a "we" rule?
Yeah, what's the "we" rule? Is it writing every post in the first person plural? Because I think that is really annoying.
But anyway, I do like your mother's room. It looks all icy and cold, which makes me want to snuggle under the covers.
Typically as an editor, you revert to using âweâ rather than âIâ but man, I would proudly drop the âweâ for this post. That room is gorgeous. Atta girl, AT Mom.
Your mom is my idol.
I like, I like, I like. I know I tend to hate on everything, but your momma has a rad bedroom.
I would love to wake up in that room.
Hah! I have that SAME alarm clock....and mine is easily 24 years old. Still works great too...yeah Sony!
I like!! If a boyfriend had this room...I would keep seeing the boyfriend just to get to sleep in this room!!
Thank goodness for breaking the "we" rule. I wish every writer would break it every single post!
I love this room. It's very simple but elegant at the same time. I'd love to see a detail of the artwork.
Your mom is way more cool than mine.
i love your mom and i love seeing a post that uses first person.
I'll add to the "cool mom" chorus!
wow, what a lovely room. definitely one of the best rooms i saw here, ever. cool mom ;-)
(i find the we rule immensely annoying, too :-D )
I love the art on the wall, but I'm too distracted by the unmade bed to really appreciate the day shot. Your mom does sound really cool though.
Very cool! The art is amazing.
ltblmr-funny b/c I was thinking that the bed looks so inviting unmade like that-it looks like it is just waiting for someone to crawl back in and snuggle down.
Please stop using "we"! It's really annoying.
Every time someone stops using it there are plenty of us in the comments asking you to keep stopping it. So why does AT keep doing it?
Do a survey if you want numbers, but I'm convinced that most AT readers hate (or at least dislike/don't prefer) the "we."
I hate "we". I like your mom's room. Cool post. As others have mentioned, more would be great.
I don't mind we.
Very nice. Thanks for breaking the rule. This bedroom is well worth it.
The bed is amazing. Did your mom make it herself? I want one!!!
Oh, I just read she made the bed herself...sorry.
I'm all for the abolition of the "we" rule on this site... it is absolutely grating.
Chic Scandinavian = Cool Mamma
I can't believe this! Years ago (maybe two or three), I found Ogi's work, love it, saw this exact picture on his site and promised myself that I'd do my own series and display it like that. Most excellent.
Lovely bedroom. The colors are great.
Your mom has great taste. I love love love the paintings.
i like we. i get it.
KTG, i suspect the end where the head goes is where the light and the alarm clock are ;-)
I think the "we" rule is silly. You're bloggers! You should sound like individuals with your own thoughts and ideas, not like part of some big faceless blogger conglomerate.
I suppose it does create some sort of cohesive "voice" and seemingly the same point of view, but you're obviously indiviudals with your own tastes & ideas.
Usually, the "we" comes across as pretentious and, in a way, goofy.
We (hehe) would be more than happy to see the rule go away.
That room is so serene! Beautiful! And amazing art!
(Also... I agree with everyone else about the "we" rule... I always see who wrote the post, anyway... so it always seems weird. You all (sorry...) have such distinct personalities!)
I'd love to know which paint color is on the walls--the brand and the color.
OMG! Anal people, who cares about the 'we'. People read way to much into it. Gorgeous room! I love the colors and it seems as someone said like you'd be on vacation.
I love your mom's room - my bedroom is a similar blue-to-gray and it's the most peaceful place in my condo. The color in my room is a Benjamin Moore match of the ridiculously expensive but beautiful Farrow & Ball 'Borrowed Light' and I adore it.
