Inspiration: Office Behind Closed Doors

There's nothing better for folks who like to shut the door on their work at the end of the day than a home office behind closed doors. We'd copy this idea in a heartbeat if our home had a big enough closet. See this office "put away" after the jump.

This particular condo had a freestanding unit with shelving that Jenn made into her work area. Because of the frosted glass hiding the closet's contents, this spot is perfect for a hidden office. The color palette of this open area is also one to admire. Frosted glass, white accents and cool aqua blue tile in the kitchen make this a serene zone. We can understand why Jenn wants to keep up the flow of space by stowing her paperwork out of sight.

these are ikea billy bookcases right?

I love this idea! I've actually been debating doing this in my den but I wasn't sure how it would look. I think I'm definitely going to do this now.

I wonder if the narrower Pax unit would work, too, in terms of space? I just need space for mac, printer and general office storage. I don't work for home.

That's a nifty idea, and I like the frosted glass with the aqua blue.

Cute.....but I'm assuming you'll have to lean over to use the desk space since you can't really place the chair legs on top of the base of the closet. It would probably work for 20 minutes until you get a backache and a neck spasm. Just speculating.

i like the idea but i do agree with narchitect (clever username by the way). i did a closet office for a client and made sure that her chair could fit under the desk as an option. i did the same thing in her bedroom closet.

you could always add sliding shelf to solve that problem.
