I started collecting tiles from second hand stores without any real purpose. I just knew I loved them, and until recently I was happy enough resting them against walls, putting my tea pot on them or hanging them on my fence - but now I realise they have a purpose. At some point I will have a colourful, patterned, textured patchwork tile floor or wall, it's just meant to be.

That patchwork shower is crazy-awesome! And I love those floors! Maybe that's what I should do for my backporch's floor...
I'm now thinking that I need to order some wacky Flor tiles and make a patchwork rug to brighten my hallway. Thanks for the inspiration!
I worry about tile height though - won't some tiles be a bit higher than other tiles?
I like the look though. Super cool.
I second Caralyn.
I freaking LOVE this idea.
It looks to me like most of these were done by mixing up patterns in the same type of tile - perhaps by just picking out a mishmash at the store or by choosing remaindered stuff.
That fireplace in particular reminds me of tile work I saw in Sevilla. LOVE IT.
