Traditionally, red, white and blue color combos inspire more of a preppy, nautical vibe but Ania has managed to combine the trio of colors in a way that is less patriotic and more vintage charm. More views after the jump!
The delicate white bed frame pops from the red wall. We love the mixture of the vintage yellow poster hanging above to even out the look. Below the bed is a large wooden trundle for stowing items when not in use.
A 1970s patterned lampshade above goes great with the striped pillows, geometric rug, and the decorated bedspread.

Ania keeps the red, white and blue color palette on a muted scale which is less about trends and more about individual style.

I like how this looks! Not too patrioticky (if thats a word).
Forget about the color. Look at that floor!
Thanks for the link kimmiller! I have been searching for pics of modern kid's rooms. I mostly just come across traditional pics of kids' rooms online. The RW&B above and in the modern kid's rooms does work without being patriotic or nautical. Very nice!
thanks all for comments:)
I wish those pic were taken upcoming weekend - I'd have a new desk and lamp in my "office" space.
spinsLPs - I like the floor too - my fiance renovated it (it's 50 years old, the floor, not my bf)
I like using red and blue, along with yellow, but add white and black elements along with wood in the medium tones, such as teak or similar to give a bit of a sophisitcated element to it.
Nice job.
I can almost stand this, and having "been there" for the Bicentennial in 1976, I never want to see red-white-and-blue decor again, so that's a compliment!
