Call us crazy, but we're digging the look of this rock wall we stumbled upon last week. It reminds us vaguely of the Lew French mantel we posted a while back. The entire building covered in rocks is a bit much for our tastes, but we're feeling the rustic look for a small accent wall in the garden. What say you?

We especially love the way the rocks stick out so far from the cement and their haphazard placement. We've seen rocks sunken in concrete floors, but this seems so much more organic and intentional...

nothing crazy about it, it's gorgeous! i grew up around the old stone walls farmers built in the berkshires of Western Massachusetts so i have a major soft spot for this look!
love the rocks - except when some decoratively challenged owner decides to paint them - frightful! I have seen some real nightmares with that. There's a house near Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz that is all giant rocks - I have no idea how they even did it, but it's fun to see!
While beatiful, it is hardly new. Exterior walls like this were quite popular in institutional and commercial building in the late 1970s. (My elementary and high schools both had them them)
