In the past few years, it seems like floral fabrics have evolved a lot. Whether you're looking for a bold, graphic pattern or a more traditional print, there's something out there for you. We've rounded up a few examples of rooms designed around a floral armchair. Some are sweet and simple, while others have a vintage vibe...
• 1 Remy Chair from Anthropologie's March Catalog
• 2 Nicole's Living Room Chair from Making it Lovely
• 3 House to Home
• 4 ADD Design
• 5 Madison Armchair from Pottery Barn

#1 and 2 are just waaay too much...
...in a few years, they'll be as dated as brown plaid Herculon.

I do agree with the first comment, but what I've come to realize is trends, for better or worse, are cyclical. I'm sure the looks can be repurposed when the time comes.
I am finding floral fabrics are going out of style. If I could do my own upholstering I would go for it so I could change it out when I would get tired of it.
I do like that orangish fabric and could see doing this with a thrift store find.
i have obsessed over chair #2 from anthropologie for what seems like forever. i will never be able to convince myself to drop that kinda cash for a chair with such a statement fabric. i'm afraid i'd get tired of too soon, but man is is pretty to look at. anyone know where i could find fabric in a similar pattern? a couple of pillows might satisfy my desire, without the commitment.
I think a single chair in a floral can really lighten a room, particularly if the rest of the furniture is fairly heavy - that's what I'm hoping at least! I have a matching sofa and chair in oxblood leather, and I want to reupholster my grandmother's slipper chair in a floral to lighten things up a bit. I've also considered doing the front and seat in a plainer fabric, and only do the back in a big floral - saw it in a NY Mag spread a couple of years ago - very coy!
I love that Astrid (I think) chair from Anthropologie- it's pretty and surprisingly comfy. But I agree that I'd be afraid to spend so much money on it for fear I'd tire of the fabric.
There's my living room! You know, #2, the dated one. I bought that chair two and a half years ago as an Anthropologie floor model (so I saved several hundred dollars), and I just have to say I love it. When I get sick of it I'll either sell it or have it reupholstered.
pinklovesbrown, I love your dated living room and your attitude! keep rockin it!
pinklovesbrown, the only thing I like more than your super cool chair is your pluckiness. keep on rockin!
