Local running shoe store Run Tex opened a new location in the Triangle recently, and features an interesting shoe display wall. Designed by local architect Jamie Chioco and with help from fellow architect Robert Smith, this simple but gorgeous display wall could provide you with inspiration for your own home! More information on how they did it after the jump!
Using a CNC router to cut individual shelves out of a sheet of plywood, the result left a modern and awesome negative decorative pattern in the plywood sheet. They then cut precise "grooves" into the plywood to be able to insert the shoe display shelves. Partnered with that gorgeous and bright paint color, the cut plywall creates an irresistible and modern look!
We've seen awesome furniture created by using the CNC router tool, like this instructables table. We've even posted about whole structures created with CNC routers! We want to know if you've ever used a CNC router to create a DIY home project. Share your ideas with us!

Nice wall!
But could you please stop using so many exclamation marks!
They work best when used sparingly!
Otherwise your copy reads like it was written by a highschool cheerleader!
Once again, nice wall!
!!!
How many people have a CNC router?
Here's the deal: I don't want to live in a retail space. I don't display my shoes, I don't let people try them on, and my bedroom closet isn't a changing room.
Commercial design is fine, but not in my house. And ditto about the router.
