The May/June issue of the Australian magazine Inside Out features stylist Sibella Court's Manhattan loft. Seeing her silver-painted tin ceiling tiles makes us seriously covetous. What a ton of impact a silver ceiling would have in a small space, like a bathroom, or a dining room (for those of us who don't have tin ceilings, or lofts...)

I love the ceiling but I NEED the bookcases with the file drawers underneath. Anywhere local - Cincinnati area?
The bookcase is the Expedit from Ikea. It's just on top of the file drawers.
I live in an area with tons of historic homes (mine was built in 1890 and I grew up in a house that was a hospital during the Civil War) and this type of ceiling is very popular in silver, white, black, and copper.
Lovely , I like the wallpaper too.
Lot's of places in the South have these ceilings.
My grandmother's home had this. This was in southern, rural Colorado. I loved that ceiling and miss it.
I have sound proofing tiles on my ceiling that I hate. My mom has suggested putting a tin (or tin looking) ceiling up, but I'm afraid that it would make the room echo. Does anyone know if this is a problem?

Any room will echo if it's empty or full of hard surfaces.
If it has carpets, rug and other soft furnishings, then no echo.
Put the tin ceilings up - I think you'll enjoy them.
the ceiling is amazing but I can't help but stare at the ottoman. anyone have an idea where it came from? or one similar??
The ceiling adds a lot of richness and character, as well as a nice diffuse light via reflection. Very nice.
I wonder if the ottoman came from Brocade Home? It looks like the bed did. I searched their website and don't see one, but think I remember seeing on in the past. I like it too!
I LOVE the bookcase on the file cabinets! Gotta do that.....
This is lovely. I currently rent a place that has the dreaded popcorn ceilings...*sigh*
where can I find other similiar images??
thanks :)
Wallpaper be gone!
I too love the bookcases on the file cabinets. Anyone know where to find both items?
Oh, man, I want to do that to my bedroom...

i think this is the ottoman:

bad news is the $5300 price tag :(
you may be able to have something similar made by an upholsterer, as it is all tufting & building the frame might not be too pricey, it wouldn't be cheap, but i can't imagine costing even half of the rl price....
