011509mail-01.jpgIt's been a while since we've had a really bad day (and we mean really bad). And when you're experiencing one of those dreadful days, not much can cheer you up (even when your best friends know how to make you feel better). But sometimes the stars aligns and someone from outside your immediate world enters yours and casts a silver lining on your cloud...

The above picture is a laminated photograph of our front stoop. So you can imagine our surprise when we walked up our stairs last evening and found this pic leaning on our mailbox, staring back at us. For a second, we were the slightest bit creeped out as we slowly turned the pic over. There was just a single web address, tanyasakolskyart.com. Ahhh, we could breathe a sigh of relief--we did not have a stalker. What we did have was one really interesting pic of our stoop and a reason to check out this new website. Apparently Tanya Sakolsky is an Echo Park photographer (that besides taking amazing photos) leaves neighborhood residents a laminated photo of their mailbox (on their mailbox). We had been tagged--but in the best possible way--thank you!!

Check out Tanya's website for amazing photographs of Los Angeles and the Echo Park neighborhood.
