Even those whose work is not so poetic as to involve the contemplation of nature still deserve a desk with a view. To be able to sit in the natural light while working, or to take a break every so often to admire the outside world, is a wonderful thing. If you can, why not try situating your home office desk at a window?
Of course, if a window isn't quite the right height or at quite the right orientation, it can seem awkward to place a desk directly beneath or in front of it. So we thought we'd come up with some photos of different desk/window layouts to inspire you.
Some of these workspaces are organized and functional, while others are dreamy and contemplative. Some are cleverly carved into small corners, while others are blessed with open, airy spaces and high shelves. What all of them share is a desk at a window, a place to work with easy access to fresh air and sunlight.
Do you keep your desk at or very near a window? How do you like it?
